WASSCE violence: GES recalls sacked 14 students

The Ghana Education Service has recalled dismissed 14 final year students who are believed to have caused chaos and destroyed properties in their respective schools in the wake of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The GES after their meeting with the education Ministry say, the students will write the exams In their respective schools under strict supervision by theirs guardians.

President Akufo Addo has directed the ministry of Education to engage the Ghana Education Service to review the punishments meted out to the final year Senior High School students for rioting in the ongoing West Africa Senior Secondary Examinations.

According to the president, although the acts committed by the affected students were riotous, dismissing them was enough punishment that could deter others from engaging in similar acts.
