RE: Bolga Community Worried on fate of Stadium project amid Covid-19

The Ministry of Youth and sports (MOYS) has taken note of publications on media platforms directed at the stalling of the multi-purpose resource and recreational Centre being constructed by the Ministry at Navrongo in the Upper East Region.

The Ministry wishes to state that, the people of Bolgatanga have no cause to worry since there is a great commitment by Government to ensure that, the project is carried through and commissioned at the scheduled date tentatively by the end of the year.

These Centres, are not being constructed for football only but there are other sporting facilities such as basketball courts, lawn tennis courts, swimming pools, tartan tracks and also counseling and ICT facilities where the youth will be counseled and trained in ICT related programs.

It is worth noting that, the project is one of the ten projects the Ministry is constructing in the then ten regions of Ghana.

With 80% completion of the Navrongo project, the contractor is on site working assiduously to ensure the project meets the completion date.

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah is very much committed to ensuring that all the ten projects are completed on time.
