PNC opens nomination for Flagbearer, pegs filing fee at GHC 30,000

Prospective candidates of the upcoming People’s National Convention Congress have an amount of GHC30,000 to pay as requirements for filing fees.

The Council of Elders of the People’s National Convention says it will hold its National Congress on September 26, 2020.

The event will be used to elect a Presidential candidate ahead of the December 7 polls as well as national executives for the party.

This was announced after Council of Elders of the People’s National Convention at its emergency meeting held in Accra on Saturday 22nd August 2020 decided in the larger interest of the party to intervene to resolve the impasse between the National Executive Committee members and the Leader of the Party regarding the dates for the filing of nominations and filing fees for the party’s impending congress prior to the 2020 General Elections.

According to the chairman of council of Elders, Col. Luri Bayorbor, they have accordingly resolved as follows:

1. Per the directive of NEC, nominations shall remain open at all regions of the country

for all aspirants who are contesting for positions of the party till 31st of August, 2020.

2. The submissions of forms by the aspirants must be done by close of work on Monday the 7th of September 2020.

The Filing fees shall be as follows; GH¢

National Chairperson 20,000.00

National Vice Chairperson 20,000.00

General Secretary 10,000.00

National Organizer 10,000.00
