Nurses and Midwives to begin Strike over Conditions of Service September 21
The leadership of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and its Allied Associations has announced that they will withdraw their services from Monday, 21st September, 2020 over conditions of service.
A statement jointly signed by Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, the President of the GRNMA, Emmanuel Yaw Appiah , the President Ghana Physician Assistants Association and Fredrick Kwame Kporxah, the president of association Registered Anesthetists, said the conditions of service negotiation meeting held on September 3, 2020 was not conclusive.
She also raised issues with non-payment of the allowances for frontline health workers and insurance, which were promised as part of incentives in the fight against Covid-19. The Association says it has petitioned the National Labour Commission (NLC) over its intended action.
The GRNMA said it in the view of the above urges all its Allied Associations namely: Ghana association Registered Anesthetists, Ghana Physician Assistants Association. Community Health Nurses Association of Ghana, Ghana Registered Midwives Association and members to withdraw their sevices from 8:am on Monday , 21st September 2020
