NPP Pushes Late Ekow Hayford's Wife As Parliamentary Candidate

The latest hitting the airwaves has it that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has settled on the wife of the late Mfantsiman Member of Parliament, Ophelia Hayford as their Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 elections.

The news as detailed by host of the Ekosiisen Show, Osei Bonsu referenced a letter the NPP has forwarded tot he Electoral Commission (EC) to saty the process for the nomination so they can file the details of the widow for the parliamentary elections.

According to Osei Bonsu, the NPP has invoked Section 13 (4) of C.I 127 of the Electoral Commission to get Mrs. Ophelia Hayford filed to contest he elections on the ticket of the NPP.

In furtherance of which, the widow is reported to have tendered an official resignation letter tot he Ghana Police Service, where she was formerly employed.

Mrs. Ophelia Hayford was an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Central Region.

She holds an LLB and A Masters Degree.

This development comes after a visit by the President Nana Akufo-Addo and some delegates of the party to the family or the late MP, Ekow Hayford
