The boss for Green Grass technology, Mr Frank Boahen has stated emphatically that 60% of football pitches in Ghana lacks proper watering. Mr. Frank Boahen.
"Most of the pitches are in bad state due to professional people not handling the pitches in Ghana."
"In Ghana most teams don't water their pitches even before or after matches. In Europe, the teams always water the pitches after first half of a game", Mr Boahen told Adanseɛ Sports.
"Every pitch needs thirty thousand liters of water a day to make it nice and beautiful".
Speaking about the injury scare that bad pitches pose for players, he said "When a pitch is very hard for football, it gives more injuries to the players."
Green Grass Technology is the company in charge of handling the pitches that are for the National Sports Authority(NSA).
Speaking on the role of the NSA in keeping our national stadia at Accra,Baba Yara Sports Stadium(Kumasi) Cape Coast Sports stadium and the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium(Tamale), Mr Frank Boahen gave thumps up to the NSA Board Chairman, Hon. kwadwo Baah Agyeman and the NSA Director, Prof Peter Twumasi for always providing all needed equipments needed to help keep grass in good shape for football matches.
