Let’s approach December polls with peace- Andy Appiah Kubi

The Deputy Minister for railway development, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi has called on Ghanaians to approach the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections with peace.

The Deputy Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem north constituency, made this claim at the stakeholder forum on the development of metro/ light rail transit system in Kumas.

He said elections were to deepen democracy by giving the citizenry the opportunity to choose a leader to champion development and not an avenue for fighting.

He revealed at the ceremony that the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Railways Development (MORD) intends to introduce the Light Rail Transit System, which will aid in the reduction of traffic congestion into the regional capitals in the country, starting in Accra and Kumasi respectively.

According to him,” the project is economically viable and claimed that possibly at the end of the month, all the strategies and timeline for the light rail will be out and hopefully next year, the project will kick off and urged Ghanaians to maintain Akuffo-Addo as president”.
