Kumawu Hospital to be completed by November 2022 but Blame the delay on Mahama – Hon. Samuel Addae A
Hon. Samuel Addae Agyekum, the DCE for Sekyere Kumawu has enumerated that the delay of the construction of the Kumawu District Hospital should be blamed on erstwhile Mahama Government.
When speaking to ADANSE3 98.9 FM's Prof Sam, he indicated that the construction of this $29.6 million hospital faced contractual and financial problems at the time which could have been avoided.
He was emphatic that the erstwhile Mahama Government withdrew $9 million from the funds of hospital to conduct research into the chances of the re-election of Fmr. President Mahama. They also failed to pay the certificates raised by the contractors and renew the contracts of the contractors after the delay.
Mr. Agyekum further stated that motion has been moved in Parliament and approval has been obtained for the continuation of the project and it is anticipated to be completed by November, 2022
Hon. Addae Agyekum indicated that hadn’t been the gross mismanagement of funds by Mahama’s government, this important project would have been completed within 30 months from inception.
