Kumasi Asante Kotoko was hit with a one-window transfer ban by the Player Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association on an account that the Porcupines Warriors were found to have breached players’ contracts on numerous counts.

Therefore, in January 2021, Asante Kotoko was hit with a one-window ban by PSC prohibiting the club from making new signings until the summer, 2022.

But the Kumasi based football giants appealed the decision of the PSC of the GFA and have been proven innocent.

On Wednesday, 3rd February, 2021 afternoon, the PSC rescinded its decision, liberating Kumasi Asante Kotoko to sign players in the just opened transfer window.

This decision serves as a huge boost for the team's trainer, Johnson Smith, to make signings to beef up his squad before the February window ends.

The second window opened on February 16 and will be shut at 11:59 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
