I am happy with the draw - C.K Akonnor
Head coach of the Black Stars Charles Kwabla Akonnor has expressed satisfaction to his side's drawn game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
The four time champions has qualify to the AFCON tournament to be staged in Cameroon next year despite sharing the points at the FNB stadium on Thursday evening.
Kudus Mohammed handed Ghana the lead by scoring in the second half before Brighton striker Percy Tau restored parity, getting his 4th goal in the qualifiers.
Many Ghanaian expressed displeasure of the team's general performance and results but Akonnor he is happy with the draw.
“We knew they were going to be aggressive on us but we were prepared for that. We got the chances but we are happy with the draw” he statement at the post-match.
“Of course we were a bit surprise but they came with three back and it mounted a lot of pressure on us through the wide but later on we got better”
“When we went for the second half we were prepared and we had to push forward and push men forward and we were lucky to get a goal within that period of time, we conceded in the end and it disturbed at the lane”
“But I am happy with how we played in terms of positioning, organization” he said.
Ghana will play their last group game against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday at the Accra Sports stadium.
