President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated government is committed to ensuring that it fulfils the promise for students to get guarantor free loan, just as it fulfilled free SHS.
Speaking during the commissioning of a FIFA standard 500 capacity astro turf pitch for the University of Professional Studies -Accra (UPSA), President Akufo-Addo also stated that government is also ensuring access to education by expanding infrastructure at all levels of education.
He noted that the physical wellbeing of the students is important hence sports related projects in schools.
President Akufo-Addo explained that his government has so far embarked on 68 sports related projects across the country with 12 completed while 29 astro turf pitches have also so far been built.
The Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwasi Yankah noted that government's efforts so far shows it's intends to do more for the education sector.
He therefore called on Ghanaians to vote again for the NPP government.
The astro turf was funded from the internally generated fund of the UPSA.
Former Captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan (Baby Jet) and former Black Stars player Laryea Kingston as well as the President of the Ghana Football Association Kirt E. S. Okraku joined President Akufo-Addo to commission the astro turf pitch and also played the ball to signify the readiness of the pitch for use.
