GDCL participates in Green Ghana Day

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Digital Centres Limited, Honourable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang led management and staff of GDCL to plant trees at the Accra Digital Centre, as part of activities to commemorate the Green Ghana Day, which was introduced in 2021, as part of an aggressive national afforestation/reforestation programme to restore the lost forest cover of Ghana and to contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change.

Planting the first tree, Honourable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang lauded government’s initiative and urged stakeholders in the digital ecosystem to inculcate the culture of tree planting to mitigate global warming and avert environmental degradation whilst developing digital solutions to address climate change.

He also encouraged the Ghanaian media to use their digital platforms to educate the populace on the need for them to protect the environment and plant more trees.

Honourable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang gave the assurance that GDCL through the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation will continue to participate actively in the Green Ghana Day.
