Four Unit Classroom Block Collapsed by heavy downpour at Konongo

Many parts of the country experienced a heavy and stormy downpour last Saturday, the 6th of March, 2021. It was the Independence Day of the Republic of Ghana of which Merry making should have been the order of the day. However, a lot of people ended their enjoyment abrupt after the heavy and stormy rainfall when houses, factories and school were heavily affected.

Saint Mary's Girls Senior High School located in Konongo in the Asante Akim Central District calls on all stakeholders; the MCE, government and non governmental agencies to come to their assistance for the collapsed of their pavilion that holds four class rooms due to the heavy downpour.

Mr Akwasi Amoako Bonti, a teacher, speaking with Obiri Yeboah Fentemfrem Junior in an interview, explained that, the incident happened last Saturday evening when they experienced a heavy downpour.

He continued that, the collapse of the Four Unit Classroom Block has impeded teaching and learning and it has become very difficult for the school to schedule their normal classes asa well as observing all Covid-19 protocols especially the maintenance of social distance in class as a result of demolished classroom block by the natural disaster.

He then pleaded the government and all stakeholders to attend to them and assist them as a matter of urgency.
