EC Records 37,762 Challenged Cases

A total of 37,762 applicants have been challenged over their eligibility to acquire the new Voters’ Identification Card, the Electoral Commission has said, on Wednesday.

The commission said, This constitutes 0.20 percent of the provisional total number of applicants registered.

The commission made this known at the ninth Edition of the, “Let The Citizen Know” series of the Commission.

The commission said one of the ways to guarantee the credibility of the voters register was the utilisation of the process for challenging eligibility, as enshrined in law.
