Duration of JHs, SHS has not been reviewed- NACCA


The national council for curriculum and assessment (NACCA) has debunked media reports that that seeks to suggest that the duration of the junior high school programme will from the 202o/2021 academic year, be increased to four years while the senior high school programme, according to report , would now last two years.


In a statement signed by the council’s public relations officer, Cosmos Enimah said, that with planned implementation of the common core Programme in the next academic year, the duration for both JHS and SHS will remain three years each.


He added that the appearance of this false story is more concerning, given that NaCCa has, as recently as February 2020 debunk similarly reportage.

‘The general public in thus entreat to disregard this false reportage. We also wish to appeal to the media to take advantage of our open door pocily and engage with us to avoid misinforming the news consuming public on such critical matters”, he added.
