There has been social media banter as to who leads the New Patriotic Party after the reign of H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo, between Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng and the vice President H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
There has been a concern by some Ghanaians that this social media brouhaha about who becomes the next flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), may distort or destabilizes the current NPP administration.
Some people also have the assertion that looking at how supporters of these great men of the party have started their campaign and lobbying, it will divide the party into two factions which would affect the fortunes of NPP in 2024 election.
Despite all these claims, Dr. Kwasi Thinks otherwise. Speaking on Adanseɛ FM Saturday's political talk show dubbed “Moment of truth” the Ashanti Regional Communication Director of NPP, Dr. Kwasi Kyei opined that the social media war between the supporters of Alan and Bawumia would not affect the party in any way from now till 2024 general elections.
He continued that it cannot determine the future of the party but the fortunes of the party is dependant on the performance of the current administration but not what is happening on social media.
Dr Kwasi Kyei concluded that the social media campaign will even strengthens the democratic nature of the NPP
