The Agogo Worldwide Association (AWA) has made a donation to a physically challenged person at Asante Akyem Agogo in the Ashanti Region
The donation by the AWA which is made up of Agogo citizens from London, New York, Atlantic City, Worcester and Washington metro area , Germany which includes provision shop worth GHC10,000 and Motorized chair for disabled persons worth $2, 000.
A patron of AWA Samuel Anyang-kusi did the presentation on behalf AWA at the Bontoduase, a suburb in Agogo on Thursday, October 8, 2020, with the support of Assembly member, family and friends to Stephen Amponsah, the physically challenged person.
Presenting the provision Shop and Motorized chair to Amponsah, Samuel Anyang-kusi said the main objective of AWA is to create awareness about people living with disabilities in Ghana and support their needs by raising funds through any means possible.
Anyang-kusi attached a strict agreement to the success of the provision shop by advising Amponsah to instill discipline to himself and not to collapse the Shop.
“You are the first of the many kinds that we want to help. We are just giving you our shoulder and we want you to be more successful,” he told his Amponsah.
He bemoaned that if Amponsah collapse the Shop, he will seize it.
After receiving the Items, Stephen Amponsah commendedAnyang-kusi and his team for supporting him with the funds they raised through AWA.
He called on the public to emulate the gesture by AWA so that he will feel part of the society.
He told AWA that he will not disappoint them by collapsing the shop but he will be successful.
