Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has, has revealed that the government has installed a free wireless internet connection popularly known as Wi-Fi in 80% of Senior High Schools across the country.
This, according to her, is intended to broaden the scope of education, Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT), research, and knowledge acquisition in these institutions.
Speaking in an interview with Nimdee fm on Sunday night, she assured that NPP government focus is to provide every school and community with ICT infrastructure to keep them in touch with global trends.
This will also equip our youth with the skills that will be necessary for Ghana’s economic transformation, she added.
She announced that, they are waiting for President Akufo Addo to announce date for the commissioning of the free Wi-Fi in the Senior High Schools.
“President will also use the opportunity to have a video conference call with SHS students from remote areas so we will testify that indeed the Wi-Fi is connected”, she added
